Why adopt a CSR initiative?

Written the Aug. 10, 2022 by Véronique Lejeune

Many companies are reluctant to launch a CSR initiative because they are not sure of the benefits.

What is a "CSR initiative"?

It is the way in which companies integrate social, environmental and economic concerns into their activities and management.

Why is this important for the company?

Many companies are reluctant to launch a CSR initiative because they are not sure of the benefits. However, integrating a CSR initiative represents a guarantee of sustainability and an increase in performance for the company.

What are the benefits for the company?

An enhanced image

CSR is a great tool for working on and optimising the company’s reputation. Where appropriate, obtaining a certification or label attesting to compliance with certain environmental and social standards (e.g. Ecovadis), will enhance the company's image.

A tool for creating customer loyalty

CSR is also an attractive tool on the labour market and for employee retention. It also strengthens the company's relationship with its partners.

Increased performance

Thanks to a better understanding of its customers' expectations, the company is moving towards a customer-focused strategy and optimising its products, innovating more regularly and more effectively creating customer loyalty. Adopting a CSR initiative can result in a 13% performance increase compared to companies that have not (source: France Stratégie study)

What are the benefits for customers?

As explained above, the company is moving towards a customer-focused strategy by offering innovative solutions that minimise its environmental impact but meet its customers' demands.

What are the benefits for suppliers, partners, subcontractors, etc.?

A CSR commitment ensures mutually beneficial and respectful relationships. This strengthens the company's business relationships and builds loyalty among all stakeholders.

Is the CSR charter an interesting strategic axis for us?

We believe it is an excellent way to identify our weaknesses and find solutions as we are convinced of the many benefits of CSR. We want to offer innovations that minimise the environmental and societal impact of our products, operations and services.

To date, regulations only require it of large groups, but they plan to make it compulsory for SMEs and VSEs soon. We might as well prepare for it today!

We will keep you informed regularly of the progress of our CSR charter project.
